A really excellent result! I know Amodel kits require quite a bit (a lot?) of work, but their willingness to kit some of the less routine subjects is very welcome in my view. There's no doubting your skill and technique from what we can see here!

Hi All, Following a reasonably extensive time to allow the port wing roundel to sort itself out after gallons of Microsol, I ended up here: I have never seen a transfer remain in this state after Micro-Sol (all the others conformed perfectly), so I can only assume there was some sort of reaction with the paint/gloss coat. Never one to shy away from a good bit of bear poking, a bit of careful probing soon got me to this I cleaned this mess up as best I could, rescribed the panel lines, and sourced a suitably-sized replacement from the spares box. There is a slight colour mismatch but I think I've been brave enough for one day, so I'll live with that Once the replacement had settled down I applied another gloss coat, and then a Flory wash - here's the result post-Flory: And after cleanup and a flat coat: Want a closer look? It's far from perfect, but I'm calling that a save! Finally here's the state of play after removal of all the masks: Looking like a Firefly now! Thanks for looking, Roger
Correct. Here's a reference pic: Note also that the ground starter plug cover moulded into the port wing fairing should not be there. The ground starter is actually located near the wing leading junction with the fuselage, the black opening that you see in the above pic.

Thanks, the hand was predictably the most fun bit to do. Plus I keep wanting to say "Bloody hand" in the style of "Bloody eye" from Cowboy Bebop @Andy Moore here's a pic of the back. I didn't take the spots very far down as the "panels" got smaller and smaller. You can see how chunky and un-blended my white highlights are on the darker areas. That's partly why I didn't highlight the legs at all. Cheers, Will

I thought I'd give Oneohtrix Point Never a listen, as they (actually he) crops up frequently in comparisons with other electronic acts I like. After three albums, I think it's ok, I guess. I can hear hints of Cluster in places, maybe some of Aphex Twin's quieter moments, but nothing coming close to the masters of future-retro/hauntology, Boards Of Canada.
I have a couple of thin steel plates and a huge selection of magnets which come in handy to fixture the E-type tub/bulkhead assembly. I temporarily assembled the kit parts to ascertain the correct location for the "picture frame" (part 44) and the "engine mounting posts" (part 36). I'm thinking about using a balsa block the fixture the mounting posts and clamping everything with more magnets. I'll also add small plastic pegs where each of the square and round tubes land on the bulkhead and picture frame for extra strength and to keep the parts in register when I apply the cement.
