desmojen
Ok dudes, I have here in my possesion a Hasegawa 1/48 F-18A and a set of Leading Edge decals for one of the many striking Canadian demo birds. The kit is beautiful, but in true Hasegawa style, the cockpit is fairly pants, and I don't like the jet pipes much I've had a quick look but not found much. Can anyone point me in the direction of the following; Decent resin cockpit upgrade. So far all I can find is seats by Pavla. Decent resin jet exhausts. Anything else I might need (intakes?) Ta, Jen. upnorth
Aires have both a cockpit and jet pipes, look here: http://www.aires.cz/en/catalogue/meritko-1...18a-hornet.html They have two sets of jet pipes, one in closed and one in open position. If you're Canadian Hornet is one of the ones that got an avionics upgrade, this might help you a bit: http://acc.kitreview.com/mawaccreviewkb_1.htm Edited February 2, 2008 by upnorth
Stephen
There's also a cockpit from Neomega as well as Aires.Wolfpack Design do an upgrade set for the F/A-18 but that depends on the specific aircraft. Aires wheelbay http://www.eaglemodels.co.uk/acatalog/f18%...%20wheelbay.jpg Steel Beach have FOD covers although they're unfortuneately sold out at the moment https://store.nexternal.com/sbm/images/sba106.jpg Steve at Eagle Models appears to have all the Aires stuff in stock at the moment. entlim
Jen , there should be an Aires F/A-18 A/E office set out now-#4351 Ed
Mike V
Black Box (if you can source one) has the best or most accurate F-18A cockpit. The Aires exhaust set is quite superb, I'd suggest them. Seamless Suckers makes intakes for the Legacy Hornets, but they are a PITA to fit. Intake covers you can make yourself. Mike V
Flying Leathernecks Decals
Ok dudes,I have here in my possesion a Hasegawa 1/48 F-18A and a set of Leading Edge decals for one of the many striking Canadian demo birds. Here is a list of aftermarket accessories for the F/A-18. Some of them are specific to the F/A-18D as this list was put together for one of my decal sheets (all of the options are F/A-18D's). The Aires F/A-18A cockpit is actually more accurate than the Black Box pit, but can be just as difficult to install without the right preparation. I provided most of the references for the BB cockpit and would still choose the Aires set over it. Let me know if you can read the list. If not, I'll repost the information in plain text.
