Its like a bus..you wait ages for one to turn up and then ...WHAM....

But here it is! Academy are issuing a 1/72nd scale Lightning F6 "New Tooling" it says in the catalogue, which turned up in the shop today!!

What a happy and busy modeller I'm going to be this year!!

Is it any good Bill..............

Ed

I dunno Ed, there's only a photo of the "real" XR725/"BA" in the catalogue. I'd say though that IF its made to the standards of their Crusader then that would be a resounding "Oh Yes!!".

There's no indication of a release date in the catalogue though......(certainly wasn't picked up in the magazine's this month.......).

Congrats Bill you beat me to it!

Anything else in the catalogue of interest?

Now that the Lightning, Wyvern and Gannet fires of desire have been put out can we do something for a new tool 48th first generation Harrier!

Might be an interesting Nurnburg Toy Fair next weekend

hi all

This is indeed great news can't wait to see it in the flesh and if it's near the quality of the f8 it will be out of this world .Don't think we'll see it this year but who knows the great lightning race begins. Who'll be first mpm f3, trumpeter with their 3 different kits, or academy with theirs watch this space....

p.s what about plastic buccaneer to go with the promised sea vixen.c'mon any manufacturers listening.....

PPS who'll be binning their trumpeter gannets in favour of the new revell one,i will.....

happy modelling glenn.....

Well, IF it IS to the standard of their recent stuff in 1:72 - SB2C, Crusader etc - then I'm with Uncle Bill.... we have good reason to celebrate. Until it's seen in the flesh, though, let's not get too carried away..... having said that, when I get home in a coupla days, I'll be checking through my stockpile of Modeldecal sheets !

Well come on guys, did you not wonder why Revell were reissing the old Frog kit?

:banghead:

By which I take it you mean they tried to get one last shot out of the moulds before something better came along and relegated them for good?

Think Jonathan has a good point there - hope Revell weren't being that cynical though but it would explain their shameful act. Of course, this means that as they also re-popped the old Shackleton, there must be a load of new Shackleton kits on the way too... I won't hold my breath!

Did somebody mention Shackletons? I`d like a nice 1:72 AEW 2 please!

I think the biggest question is which Lightning kit do you go for now? :hypnotised:

Then maybe could people produce a new tool Javelin perhaps?

Gawd I hope not - the ones around here are always late and hideously overpriced!

But unlike the busses, we have a choice of Lightning's, eh Mrs Thatch?

My name is Ben Elton, goodnight

FirstBus!!!!

Do I win?

If the kits from the 3 companies will all be good, then no problem: as I need at least an F.1, an F.2A, an F.3 and 2 F.6 then I will buy a few of each !!!
