Hmmmmm........might be worth it if you really need one, F.1 kits alone go for about 35-40 on evilbay.

Aftermarket stuff is still available IIRC.

Nose ring £1.50

Undercarriage set x 2 £8.00

Airwaves undercarriage set £5.99

Airwaves cockpit set £5.99

Nose weight £1.50

Total aftermarket bits £23 plus kit at £35 = £58

Not that bad when you think about it.

I saw the F1 and F6 kits in one of my local stores here a couple of months ago... couldn't make up my mind which one to get. Then figured I should probably just get 'em both in case I didn't see them again... don't think I paid more than about 50 bucks for the pair (about 25 quid)... I'm thinking I got quite the steal....

I regret not buying the entire stock at my local Toymaster 6 years ago, when they were on sale at £14.99 ea....

Still, I have my built 111sqn F.3, and an F2.A/F.6 waiting to be built. Get me another when Eduard releases them later this year too...

I regret not buying all the stock that Plastic Pastimes (IIRC) had at Yeovilton a couple of years back. But I just got one F6 & one F3 ......for £6 & £8 respectively!!!

(that was the same year they had 24th scale Airfix Harrier Gr3's for a tenner & Shars for, I think, 14 squid. I didn't get any of them......!!!!)

I grabbed a few at the end of last year when I suddenly realised that they were kinda hard to get hold of. Silly really, but I'd hate to suddenly have the urge to build one and not be able to get the damned thing! Oh well, I'm glad I didn't go silly and buy too many, now that Trumpeter's gonna produce some bigger (and smaller) ones.

In an evil kind of way, it would be really gratifying if somebody had produced a truly fantastic 48th scale Lightning that was even better than the Airfix one - so we could all laugh at the misfortune of those vile people that frantically bought-up the kits so they could sell 'em at over inflated prices. Poetic justice and all that...
