Glazy
Hi all, new to these forums. Thought I'd share this artwork I did. A few years ago I co-designed and then I built the CGI Model of the HMS Camden Lock for the BBC 2 Comedy show Hyperdrive Being a huge fan of miniatures but not being able to build the ship as a miniature for the show I used CG replicas of some of my model parts to help dress the ship. http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...t=Kit-Parts.jpg Once the ship was made I mocked up this box as kind of a retro Airfix Kit Box showing the HMS Camden Lock, this was sent to the shows writers who thought it was great fun. http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...Camden-Lock.jpg Also when we were first pitching to do the shows FX we made a mock up model in CG, but the renders I made tried to make this look like it was also a kit http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...ent=CL_0012.jpg Here's the final CG model that I built, I've always dreamed about eventually having this ship as a 4 - 6 foot miniature in a case, sadly Hyperdrive has been cancelled, so there won't be a series 3. I know some people loved the show and some people hated it, but I had a lot of fun working on it at the time. http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...rrent=hmscl.jpg http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...rent=hmsclb.jpg
DamienB
"I am marvelling" Great series - great model. Gutted to hear there won't be another series. Love the Airfix mock-up, funnier things have happened...

GreenDragon
Very nice ship Glazy. Pity the Airfix kit isn't for real, I'd have a few! Paul Harrison
Glazy
Somebody on the production team did make a physical model of the 'HMS Camden Lock', it can be seen on Henderson's desk in series 2, though it seemed a bit rough and unfinished. They make mention of this model and my Airfix mock up box on the DVD commentary, though offhand I can't remember which Episode in. I also made some of the guest ships for both seasons of Hyperdive. I made the 'HMS Camden Lock's' Shuttle Craft which is seen in both seasons, though more in the 2nd season. I also made the 'HMS Seaton Carew' which features in the Episode Assessment The British Space Station which featured in the series 2 Episode Harvest The 'Holger Danske' that was used in the series 1 episode Clare and also the 'Lemurian Freighter' from the same episode. For the episode Convoy I made the British Ships the 'HMS Purley Way' & 'HMS Gower' Shuttle Craft http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...ttle-rear-3.jpg HMS Seaton Carew http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...rent=hms_sc.jpg Space Station http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...current=ss6.jpg Space Station DVD Grab http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...base-6-grab.jpg Holger Danske http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...current=HD1.jpg Lemurian Freighter http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...rrent=bbr-1.jpg Lemurian Freighter with Cargo http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...rent=bbr1-1.jpg HMS Purley Way http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...urrent=cla9.jpg HMS Gower http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...urrent=cla8.jpg Here's a shuttle craft render I did with parts so it looked like it was made from a kit. http://s8.photobucket.com/albums/a44/Glazy...uttle-Model.jpg I must thank the guys at Qurios Entertainment also, who did a superb job of putting these ships on the screen, and creating the other ships that were seen in the show as well as the other CG FX.
