xffw45343tg
Phil - ignore what I said on the other thread about LERX - it valid for UK Harriers only. Dunno what them 'merkin chaps did to our aircraft. (Other than keep it flying, of course. And spend a lot of money on it with BAe, RR, Messier Dowty (down by Staverton) etc. And provide all that fancy pants stuff for the cockpit out of the F/A18. And fund the original engine development of course. Wouldn't have been Americans without funding engine development though, would they? But apart from that...) SaintsPhil
And the viaducts.... I assume they had the frog eyes either to accommodate wiring or maybe just so they were all standard for fire fighting... Would almost make sense! SaintsPhil
Right I'm nearing paint now, in fact I think I'd be ready for primer this evening if not for another small 'issue'.... All together, nearly, just need to make the aerial for the top and the GPS antenna. I reshaped the FLIR a bit so it's flatter The 'issue' The filler you can see is where the gun pods where, fortunately I tried to fit the lift dam and found there was no way it would fit between the pods! I had them in the only spot they would fit, any further back and they'd be over the rear undercarridge bay! Oh well looks like it'll have stakes instead. Still good job I checked now!! Just got to tidy up the filler then do the couple of small jobs mentioned and it's primer time! Phil

SaintsPhil
Evening all! My airbrush is back working again now! Big shout out to Martin at Air-Tec for sorting it for me!! Ive done my best to touch up the cammo job which wasn't the best (I'll blame the miss firing airbrush...) It's still not the best, but I think with some heavy weathering it'll look ok. Hoping to get this one back on track now. Phil
SaintsPhil
Another quick update, gloss coated last night and decals on today! Thanks again for the decals Mark, for old airfix ones they've gone down pretty well! Another gloss coat to seal then weathering my favourite bit!! SaintsPhil
Made a bit more progress Weathering done and Satin Coat on I could decide Matt vs Satin but I'm pretty happy with Satin finish so that can stay! Got to start thinking about the base now... Phil
Moofles
Now im not the worlds biggest Harrier fan, but my word that looks cracking.
SaintsPhil
Thanks mate, got to love the Harrier, but I'm a bit biased as I have fond memories of staying in the caravan with my grandparents in the flightpath of wittering in the late 80s early 90s!! Anyway the model, it's done! I'll post more pics in RFI once I dig out my photo booth post Christmas chaos!! This is perhapse the first model I've made that I'm almost happy with, canopy is the only bit I'm not 100% about, the paint came off with the masking!! Think I've rescued it though! Happy Christmas all, thanks for all the help, particularly the parts that have been donated! I hope you think they've gone to a good home!
