bootneck Posted October 26, 2011 Share Posted October 26, 2011 Hi Graham,although Ark Royal had two hangar decks, there wasn't much room to take photos when the aircraft were in there.I have placed an image below (Fleet Air Arm museum photograph) which shows the two hangars from the area of the flight deck lift.There is also an image (from Navy News eArchives) of the ship before the angled flight deck was installed, however the general hangar layouts would have been similar after conversion.HTHMike Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I understand that it is not the most photogenic area of the ship, nor the easiest place to photograph, so I am grateful for what you have provided. The exploded diagram really helps as I know the dimensions of the Lifts and can work out the rest from there. I see that the latter is 16 mins longer. Is that all? Do they both include the "8 years on segment" and the COI film of operations int he Med?
