What colour for Wellesley u/c bays ?

I haven't seen a color pic of the area to make a definitive statement, but on a best guess and using the Wellington as a guide, I'd say that the framework of the wing would be in aluminum or painted silver, the top of the bay would be the inside of the fabric wing covering so that would be the redish color, the inside of the gear doors would be black as the outside color, and the landing gear would be painted silver. I just painted the indent on the kit a semi gloss black.

I'm cracking on with the old Matchbox Wellesley and detailing the undercarriage, but what colour would they of been painted ?

Thanks

Neil

Hi Neil,

When building my 1/32 Wellesley, I painted the wheelbays silver, as well as the U/C legs and wheel centres. Don't forget there was a fuel tank above the undercariage bays, I did mine rust red with dark grey straps.

hope this helps.

Glenn.
