Andy Mullen
Another episode they held ariel dog fights with Mysteronised Angel Interceptors. There may have been others. Just started re-watching the CS DVDs, but I remember episode 15 "Seek and Destroy" very well. To summarise:- Capt Black hijacks the delivery and destroys 3 new unpainted Angel Interceptors, which Mysteronise them. They then proceed to go after Destiny Angel .... Full Plot:- >> Wiki << S.I.G. Kallisti
Damn, I'm going to have to get the DVDs now, all this discussion just makes me want to watch them all again! I've already been through most of the Thunderbirds collection recently AS ESSENTIAL RESEARCH ONLY (ahem) for my Firefly build... it was a tough job but somebody had to do it! Kallisti
I did see on eBay the Imai Joe 90 car model but if its anything like the appalling Firefly model, then no thanks Edited November 3, 2011 by Kallisti
GordonD
I am waiting for someone to do Stingray and Joe 90 (specifically Macs Car), as an excuse to watch research my DVDs for them again. I had the Dinky Toys version of Mac's car (marketed as Joe's Car). It had a button on the side which, when pressed, caused the wings to unfold and the tailfins to extend backwards. Then one day I took it apart to see how it worked. A complicated arrangement of levers and springs jumped out and I couldn't get it back together again. On closer inspection afterwards, I noticed the words DO NOT REMOVE engraved round the screw holding the baseplate on...

You know, Enzo Matrix and I are friends outside Britmodeller and I'm often surprised how much our minds work alike. I used to think that we were twins, separated at birth. Now I'm wondering if the three of us are triplets!

GordonD
Picked up one of these little beauties today (as well as the aircraft she flies ). Something to bring a bit of relaxation back to the hobby after struggling with the stencil decals on Dragon's Apollo Service Module, some of which are about one square millimetre in size. (And then wondering if I've applied it upside-down...) However speaking of decals, whyinhell are Airfix suggesting that two of the Spectrum roundels be applied on the underside of the wing, overlaying the iconic large black A? The instructions do say that it's optional, but where did the idea come from? Edited November 4, 2011 by GordonD

Kallisti
Yes i did this too - took it apart then struggled to get it back together again. It was possible and if i remember you had to do it right-side up (instead of upside down as you normally take things apart/put together) as the lever sticking out the bottom which the spring was attached to would fall out if you didn't. It was very hard to keep everything together though - I imagine the manufacturers must have had specialist jigs to put these together in the first place! I managed to get all the bits back in but then couldn't reattach the baseplate because my hand was in the way, holding the bits in place... Dinky could have saved a lot of heartache if they'd attached the baseplate with a rivet, or even one of those screws with the tapered head that you can only turn in one direction... The idea is from the series (not found which episode as yet), where one of the studio models was seen with the roundels placed over the A. Once I have found the episode I will be able to point it out.
Stoo
btw, if anyone needs a reference shot for the Angels, here's a good one: Who's going to be squinting with a scalpel to carve the obviously generic RAF male pilot into a bonefide Angel? bigVern1966
Potential work for one of our aftermarket resin suppliers! Woh!!! Old man built two of these for me and my twin brother 40 years ago (must have been the second kit I ever had, after the Airfix BOAC VC-10). Needless to say picked one up from Modelzone this morning. Somebody needs to do a resin cockpit and Angel pilot for this (plus a new nose).

Once I have found the episode I will be able to point it out. From the Episode "Seek and Destroy", here is a screen capture of an Angel banking during the dogfight, showing the Spectrum logos over the underside A. So far I have watched 18 Episodes of CS and I can only discern the #737 as a positive, but will perservere and watch the remaining ones and see if I can catch at least one other. I think all the Angels' noses are cute just as they are!
