Bit concerned about the artwork on the (alleged) Mk.3. It's an F.1A, and it's not like Trumpeter to get that sort of thing wrong.

Edgar

As someone said on the other thread, maybe it's the Airfix thing where you can make a couple of marks with one kit?

Wasn't there a similar minor flap on a year or two back when they used an AEW3 pic when announcing their Gannet?

Idle speculation time....... I wonder if we will see these re-boxes under another brand - or could it be a co-operative tooling?

If you mean what I think you mean, then I think the answer maybe No! Judging by what someone told me that someone in the know told him regarding something else that may have been seen as co-operative tooling and problems associated with it - if you see what I mean.....

According to Hannants, MPM are also doing an F Mk.3. I haven't made any Trumpeter or MPM kits, which do you think will be the better kit?

The MPM kit will be accurate in overall shape, but the nose ring will be too small! The undercarriage bay will have a big moulding lug in the centre. The seat will bear a passing resemblance to a Martin Baker design, and the decals will be superb!

The Trumpeter kit will be accurate overall - but will be riddled with rivets!! The canopy will be the wrong shape. The decals will look okay but parts will be in the wrong colour!

Any jesting aside..The MPM kit is of limited run design, the Trumpeter kit will be more main stream. I'll be treating myself to both- certainly as the F1/F1a/F2 is only being issued by Trumpeter.....

The best kit will be the one with the more accurate wing's....

Better?? If by better you mean 'more accurate' then, maybe, MPM. If by better you mean 'better fitting & easier to build', then Trumpeter.
