Dr Lurrrrve
Hi guys I have my Mustang and its a fab kit. Quality is really good. Looking forward to starting it but rather than doinmg it in USAAF colours i'm keen to do an RAF (Canadian) or RAAF aircraft. Looking at Hannant's recently released sheet for Mustang IV and IVa they had louvered vents on the nose (which are not included in the Tamiya kit) and as i understand it, sometimes were fitted with the uncuffed Aeroproducts prop. Any idea whether anyone is looking at doing a conversion set? Thanks Rob
Paul J
Freightdog have released a decal set in 1/48 and includes the louvred plates to modify the ICM kit which already has the Aeroproducts prop included. I believe the decals are to be done in 1/32 but not sure about the louvred plates. As for the prop someone may come up with one to replace the cuffed Hamilton Standard prop. But check to see if your chosen subject has an Aeroproduct prop or HS prop and the louvred panels.
Moeggo
Jerry Rutman has done the masters for the Aeroproducts Prop and spinner over on Grey Matter Figures http://www.goldengecko.co.uk/shops/gmf/ind...?p=2&id=102 The louvred panels wouldn't be to hard to build out of some spare plastic sheet

Ed Russell
Brett Green did a build of a RAAF Mustang on Hyperscale using the Red Roo louvres and prop bladess that were designed for the Dragon P-51. If you want the ultimate over-the-top reference it's hard to go past SCM. Edited October 2, 2011 by Ed Russell
