SaintsPhil
Hello all, In the Fujimi FGR2 kit I'm building for the GB, there are 2 choices of wheels. One being your normal moulded wheel the other the hub and separate rubber tyre. When I initially started building it I compared the 2 hubs and as they appeared to be the same I decided to use the moulded wheels, as I don't like the rubber tyres. Have I fouled up? I ask becasue I know the wheels change between the variants and the rubber tyres look bigger than the moulded wheels! Mind you they don't look like they would fit the plastic hubs! Any pointers welcome! Phil
Enzo the Magnificent
You have already made the correct choice. Use the moulded wheels.

keefr22
Thanks very much I can rest easy now!!Phil Errrr, maybe not that easy Phil. The plastic wheels in the Hasegawa British Toom kits have USAF hubs, whereas our jets used USN style wheels - you can see the difference in the hub centres if you look carefully at the white metal ones. True Details do a nice set of resin replacements; http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/TD48051 HTH Keef
tony.t
I think he's doing a 1/72 scale Fujimi Keef, about which I know-a-nothing (though the 1/48th Brit. Revellogawas are remiss in having only the incorrect USAF-style plastic hubs). Why the need for squished tyres? The real things have fantastically strong sidewalls and don't usually bulge, they just need sanding off at the bottom if you like that kind of thing. tony.t Edited October 6, 2011 by tony.t
SaintsPhil
Thanks gents had only just spotted the extra replies! I am indeed doing a 1/72 fujimi kit and was checking what is in the box. The reason I asked about resin wheels was not so much to do with bulging more to do with finding a replacement if they weren't right! I was fairly happy that both sets of wheels are that same, the hubs at least, but I really don't like the rubber tyres, especially as the tyres don't fit!! I think it must have been the 1/48 kits I was reading about that started me thinking about this... Phil
