oiler51
Ahoy This is my 1982 kit of Hellers 1/100 scale HMS VICTORY. of all the plastic sailing vessels that are out there i would say this top of the line a very difficult kit to build the treatment of the instructions makeing it a difficult model to build most definately not for the novis. I replaced all yards bowspirit and mast with birch dowl. the plastic yards and mast break very easy they are brittle like that of resin not very forgiveing. seadog
Well done! As you say, a LOT of work. I prefer a few less guns on my sailing shipa - repitition is a real willpower sapper. btw, who's the giant on the midships walkway? F

FIGHTS ON
Very smart. I'm a year (on & off0 intop the same build. I like the effect on the copper plates on the bottom. How didi you do that may I ask - the effect looks just right. I've just finished the bow sprit etc and share your concerns ref the brittle plastic, the wooden dowels seems a good suggestion - thanks

tommyinuk0
Being an Aircraft modeller I thought I would visit the land and sea forums to see what other modellers do. Well all I can say is that what you have created is absolutely stunning. My breath was taken away just with the rigging alone. 1. I never knew Victory and ships like her had so much. 2. I just couldn't work out where you began with it all? I commend you on a remarkable project and I bet you are very protective of her! I think I will stick with Aircraft....... Well done.
