I blame Nick for forcing me into buying this the Brampton show yesterday.

And I'm glad he did :)

The major problem with the kit are the tyres which don't have an offset tread pattern. Well, they do now.

I had a look this morning and the tyres have been remoulded with the offset pattern, respect to ICM for retooling it. So if you've been put off from buying it because of the tyres, check the box, you might get the newer moulds.

And a question for the experts out there, I know most of these went to lend lease, did the Brits get any or did they all go to the Russians?

We got quite a few of these in Britain, long and short wheelbase and 6x4 tractor versions, some of which were used by the RAF as tractors for Queen Mary semi-trailers. Some of the short wheelbase variants were used as Bofors gun tractors, The shorties were originally designed as artillery tractors for US service. I scratch built a short wheelbaser Studebaker a few years ago ,before the ICM kit was availilble.

Ooh, that's good news, thanks for that Andrew. The kit's just moved up the 'to do' pile ...
