ok chaps, thanks for the help up to now, but as ive cleared the bench ive started to test my therory on the rotors below is a video of how it went, there is a minor clash of blades but when they are secured to the body they wont interact im virtually sure of it

next to look at the lights fit and holes for the stand

That's very smart - impressed!

How are you managing to sync them? or is it just luck and hoping the turn at the same speed?

they are identical motors, one having the current reversed, i thought i would need to individually speed them with a variable resistor but as they havent arrived yet, ive had a play and with a slight angle on each of the rotor heads they virtually clear esch other anyway, so when they are permenantly fixed they will miss

Nice to see it worked! And you got lucky with the motors being matched! I was probably being a bit unfair saying they would differ as most of them are woundby machine these days so they should be pretty well matched!

I can't watch the video just yet, but I'll be back to see it later!

Where are you going to put the battery so you can change it?

thanks chaps, just been trying to find what lights a hc1 has, the answer is not many

one on to of the rear rotor stack - red

one underneath red

white behind the rear rotor stack

and thats about it, on the upgrages they had loads more fitted

I think you will find port (red) and stbd (green) nav lights somewhere on the thing. [At this point I was going to post a picture but when I googled 'chinook nav lights' for you it led me to your other thread where your questions have already been answered by RAF Colonel. Very strange indeed].

there are none on a HC1 i manages to get an original cutaway forthe hc1 and it did not have any nor does any other pic ive found, according to the hc2 upgrade programme nav lights were fitted in the upgrade

i thought they wold have but i cant find them, they are certainly not in the same place on the hc2 as the hc1

Does it not have 2 chin white landing/taxi lights? Or are you not going to bother with them?

no not the HC1, thats a HC2

i thought that aswell, the HC1 has an optianl flood light at the front, which i am doing

Top work Mark. With the realism of the rotors I'll expect to see some 1/48 troops running up the rear ramp ok? ;)

Thats cool and I doubted it too! I think I had an image in my head of the motors being faster = disaster LOL But you've got a good speed going there. Look forward to seeing it finished! Will it be done for any shows this year?

thanks mate its not aimed for any shows, just as a bit of fun, but if it goes well, it will hopefully be on display at NAM's cockpit fest next year on the 'mainly military' stand

I was under the impression that navigation lights were mandatory under the Air Navigation Order?

Had a look and yes, the HC1 does have nav lights.

I've enlarged a portion of an image for you where it can just about be seen on the colour demarcation line.
