Well Dave, as I started my first GB this morning (Motorcycle GB), welcome to the club it's not so difficult, it's just a case of making a model to a deadline!!!!!

Very keen to join this one, there's a swarm of Helicopters on my shelf (I love them, they look cool) and all are un-built (because I'm chicken).

What to do? Lynx, Wessex, Hind, Sea Dragon, Seaking or something else?

Well just been looking in the stash and have the following:

Two Italeri Merlins in 1:72

An Airfix 1:72 AEW Sea King

A 1:48 OH-6

My Revell 1:32 Lynx will of course be built in the Lynx STGB

Now what shall I build?

Same problem here. I have, amongst others:

Westland Wasp - 1:48 Fujimi

Gazelle - 1:48 (ish) Heller

Hughes MD500 - 1:48 Fujimi

Sea King - 1:48 Hasegawa

Dragonfly - 1:48 Fonderie Miniature

Puma - 1:48 (ish) Heller

Whirlwind - 1:48 Revell

Sea King - 1:144 Sweet

Wessex - 1:144 Anigrand

Gazelle - 1:144 Anigrand

Dragonfly 1:144 Anigrand (would need to convert from R5 prototype)

Merlin - 1:144 Anigrand

Whirlwind 1:144 FE-Resin

Mi-8/17 Hip - 1:144 Eastern Express

Mi-26 Halo - 1:144 Eastern Express

plus the usual 1:48 Chinooks, Wessex and Sea Kings by Revell, Italeri and Airfix etc.

I think my decision will become a last-minute panic choice! :frantic:

i will definately have a go at this one. i just hope my newly fired up, but spluttering a little, modelling mojo, is running smoothly by then. and keeps running long enough to finish a model.

I think I will be very tempted to join in. I haven't built a helicopter since I was a kid, and that's some time ago... I just recently got Hasegawa's 1/48 Sea King, the box with # 66 from the Apollo rescue missions, mainly due to my interest for the 60's space programme, with the idea to build it as just before the Apollo 11 rescue. It looks a bit scary in the box and I don't really know how to best paint such a thing... :hmmm:

I think after your recent bike build Jorgen the Sea King will be a piece of cake. It's a nice kit with plenty of fine detail OOB should do fine but I'm sure you'll want to go further!

Still trying to make my mind up. Mrs. V. has bought me the Airfix Merlin for my birthday, which is just about when the GB starts...

Go for it Will, you won't regret it, I have two on the go, a Crab cab and another that I'm chopping about somewhat! I'm not too keen on green!
