Messerschmitt Bf110E decals

Better known for their range of decals for civil aircraft, Brazilian outfit LPS Hobby are now making a move on the military aircraft decal market. Their first three such sets are designed for the new(ish) Airfix Messerschmitt Bf110 kits. Each of the sets includes markings for three aircraft, in this case:

• Bf110E, 2.ZG26, 1941, finished in RLM 74/75 over RLM 65 with a low demarcation line and yellow engine naceles;

• Bf110E, 5./ZG26, 1942, finished in RLM 74/75 over RLM 65 with a higher demarcation line; and

• Bf110E, 5./NJG1, late 1940/1941 finished in overall black with a yellow fuselage band.

Unlike some aftermarket decal manufacturers, LPS have also put a lot of effort into covering allof the possible stencil options available found on the Zerstorer. This is a nice touch, particularly as separate (and extremely clear) diagrams are provided showing the location of all the stencils. The decals themselves are printed by Microscale and appear to be glossy, thin and crisply printed, although the white layer on some of my decals was slightly (almost imperceptibly) out of register.

Conclusion

This is a nice little package. The instructions, both for the main marking options and the stencils, are excellent and the decals themselves look pretty nice. I look forward to seeing what else LPS Hobby have got in store for us in future.
