Catalina

Dear friends, modellers,

The development of our model of the famous PBY-5A Catalina amphibian flying boat in the 1/32nd scale is nearing its finish. You can follow the progress in detail on our pages at www.hphmodels.cz; on these pages there is also a link to the e-shop, where you can bindingly pre-order the model. It is hand made individually, therefore the rate of production could hardly exceed some 15 kits per month. The pre-order makes certain that you have an assured fixed position in the queue for processing of your order. Once your payment arrives, you will, without delay, receive a confirmation of the order and information about the presumed date of delivery. The orders must go through the e-shop, to ensure the exact record-keeping. This applies also to our distributors, who are not going to have any priority compared to our individual customers – it is purely first come - first serve basis.

We consider December 2012 the month when the mouldings and all other components of the model, as well as the printing and packaging would be finished, and when we start to despatch the orders. The down-payment with the pre-order is 200,- Euro, the final price is 600,-Euro. However, by sending the down-payment now you get a discount of 50,- Euro of the price, so the early orders shall cost only 550,- Euro plus post and packing as usual.

The model of the Catalina in 1/32nd scale, is built to the exacting standard of the HPH Models, including the fuselage with fully equipped interior and with the wing detachable at the assembly joints of the full-scale plane, enabling easier handling of the finished model. The main parts of the airframe are made of fibreglass, the fuselage has moulded details on the outside as well as on the interior walls - the internal structure. The parts are completely ready for assembly with milled openings for canopy and transparencies, undercarriage, control surfaces etc. Other parts are vacuum-cast of polyurethane resin. The transparencies are also cast from superbly clear plastic, as you certainly know from our other models. The kit will be equipped with our standard accessory sets, produced by Eduard and HGW Model – photo-etched frets, including those with sprayed on colours, the safety harnesses and rest bunks made of laser-cut fabric, masks for spray-painting all transparencies and the extra large national insignia. The kit has also the weight contoured to fit in the nose, to keep the model standing properly. The electronic building instructions will lead you in a detailed way through the demanding construction/building process , including the direct references to the actual shape and colours using the “walk around” style of documentation of individual sections. The model kit contains two colour schemes with appropriate decals and masks.

Thank you for your interest in our models.
