desmojen
Hi all! Finished this one on monday, but was waiting to take photos in daylight. Unfortunately, that backfired because the new owner wanted to pick it up this afternoon. That meant I had to take the photos in what little amount of dim light that was available at 4pm today So, I apologise in advance for the rubbish photos Ok, model is OOB except for some photoetch seatbelts and some home made brake lines. No problems at all with the build but the decals didn't want to play. I ended up using nuclear sol on them (Mr Setter) and then they went down ok. Unfortunately a couple of the ones I put on before I used that are a bit silvered. Paint is Mr Colour and Mr Aqueous colour, covered by Tamiya Flat Base mixed with Klear. Weathering is by Promodeller dark dirt and Tamiya Weathering master. I think that's it, here's the pics. Because this was going off to be a display piece I thought it would be nice to make a base up for it. I haven't done it before myself but had seen tips regarding the use of picture frames. I popped down to Hobbycraft and picked up a 40x40cm frame and some grass stuff. So all I did was junk the glass and stick the grass sprinkles and dirt sprinkles onto the hardboard back. I then painted up a couple of figures which are stuck on and the model is just resting there. Again, I'm sorry about the pics, they don't really do it justice. But hey, if I was a good photographer - I wouldn't be on here would I! Jen.

desmojen
Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. It's a brown dog ok, I didn't want to paint it black, and it does look a bit like a red setter so that's what it is And trust Bon von Smuttenmutter to mention his wooden weapon! Jen. Andrew
Great job, Jen. Thanks for the pics, as I was curious to see how it would finish (but not surprised it turned out so well). Back to the Jag now? Andrew.

Radio Gnome
You have got to love those Tamiya 1/48 Mossies, they really are very nice indeed to build. I have seen those tanks in the bomb bay painted all kinds of shades of red, and even some olive green and steel/ally. It may be the lighting in your hurried pics, but that red shade looks different again from other builds I have seen. What did you use? A very good representation of the bombs as well, a bit different and definately an eye catcher.

spitfire
That's a nice looking Mossie, build 2 of them years ago, a really nice model to build, must get into bases for mine. I put all my armour kits on bases so maybe should do the same for the aircraft. The figures also bring life to the model, I'm just starting to add figures to my armour kits, again I should start doing the same for my aircraft. tompot
Here are a couple of mine, same kit, same markings. You'll be gutted to know (like me) that I found out after finishing it that the demarcation between upper and lower surface camo is feathered and not hard.
