Homebee
Kinetic is working on a 1/48th T-38 Talon kit that will be followed by a (C )F-5 A - and B? - Freedom Fighter family.Source: http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air...h=1entry2244636 Gentleman,It is not a F-5B, it is a T-38. But F-5A will be announced soon.Raymond Chung The 1/48th Talon/Freedom Fighter market will be a challenge considering the soon arrival of the TAN Model Northrop F-5A & F-5A(G).http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=73900http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=76277For my part I will be patient as the first TAN Model CAD drawings were quite unattractive. And considering the fact I would like to build a Dutch NF-5A (and later B!) the Kinetic Canadair CF-5 could be a better start.Wait and see.V.P Edited January 14, 2015 by Homebee
Giorgio N
The lack of a good first generation F-5 in 1/48 has puzzled me for years. Now that two arrive at the same time, I hope we'll be spoilt for choice ! While I can understand that being a trainer the T-38 will have less appeal, personally it's a plane I really like, so I'm looking forward to this as well. If then kinetic will scale this down to 1/72 I'll be even happier. The one thing I hope is that the anounced T-38 will be a proper T-38 ! There are plenty of differences between this and the F-5B, so much that I believe two totally different mould would be required
JeffreyK
Now that's interesting, that makes it the third 1:48 T-38 announcement. Finally the industry has picked up on the importance of this subject (let's wait for a T-33 next then). Trumpeter has one listed for an unspecified release date and Wolfpack apparently has one in the pipeline as well. Will ANY of these be a correct T-38 though? I concur in that I don't think a T-38 can share a mold with an F-5, too many basic shape differences all over the airframe. My Sword T-38 sits patiently on the shelf...and while that one isn't correct either (belly, wheels, nose...) the new kits need to be quite an improvement, especially with all the nice the resin and PE parts that come with the Sword kit.
