Fifer54 Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Well, guys, the time is nearly here for the Emergency Services Group Build. It was originally suggested as an Air/Sea rescue Group Build, but was soon extended to include all emergency services. We begin on 8th of September, and will work through to a big finish on New Year's Eve! Please commence your build threads in the usual manner, and Good Luck to everyone taking part! Please also announce your builds in this thread. I'm sorry, I've got no banners for this this GB, my talents don't extend in that direction! If anyone wants to create a banner, I'm sure it would be well used. . . I'll start the ball rolling by announcing my build: a 1/72 Revell Dornier Do.24T to be finished as a flying boat of SeenotStaffel 7 based at Sebastopol in 1943, for air/sea rescue duties in the Black Sea. All the best, Gaz
CliffB Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Hi Gaz I'm hoping to enter a 1/72 Planet Models Breda 44, finished as a Paraguayan air ambulance from the Gran Chaco war. It will be a late start though I'm afraid, as I've got two other GB projects to finish first! I'll be keeping a close eye on everyone else's progress... Cliff

Diesel Gypsy Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 DG checking in Gaz. My entry to the GB will be Trumpy's 2002 American LaFrance Eagle Pumper in 1:25th scale.
rowmk9 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I've just ordered something that may fit this group build quite well. a 1/25 Revell Chevrolet Impala police car It's a snap together kit but maybe I can add to it to make it more of a challenge, I'll see if it's worth entering when it arrives.
Fifer54 Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Welcome along, Dave and Rowan, it's good to have you with us. I will be pulling up a chair to watch both of your builds.

Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I think I can join in with a USCG HH-60 (2 in fact if I recall correctly). I also have a EC-130V to do in USCG colours but am not sure it would fit in the theme of the GB.
Fifer54 Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Welcome to andy_wood and TrojanThunder. The variety in this GB just keeps on coming!

Fifer54 Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Hello, Graham! A nice (hopefully) brightly coloured USCG helo (or 2) will be most welcome in this GB.

Fifer54 Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 No, you're right, you're co-hosting with me. Just take part as you see fit. . .
Mark M Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Kev1n you are my super sub! ok, anyone know where i can get a modern ambulance kit?
Fifer54 Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 I'm sorry to bring you bad news,Mark, but I've had a quick google and I can't find anything modern. There's very little apart from 1/72 or 1/76 "historic" (aka old) military ambulances. Airfix have a Land Rover 101" FC, or there's a Land Rover ambulance "Rover 7" in 1/35 from Tamiya. I daresay some specialist producers may have resin kits to model ambulances (or transkits to enable ambulance models from diecast vans) but finding them (and affording them) may prove problematic. . .
Kev1n Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Kev1n you are my super sub! glug glug also explains the extra toys I have in this.......
