Jasonb13
Hi there, I'm building the Eduard Fw190 D-9 Late. It's been a long slog, but I'm nearly at the stage of putting on decals. To help you place them all, Eduard give you two sets of pictures, one for the National Insignia and one for all the Stencils. But, as they're on two different sets of pictures, I can't tell which I should put on first. There are going to be ones that go on the same location, but do the stencils go on top off all other markings, or is it the other way around? Thanks in advance! J. Giorgio N
In general, the stencils should be above everything else, as these are related to the operation and maintenance of the planes. However, while this would be true for a plane just out of the factory, stencils are often overpainted when in service. It sounds quite strange to me that the national insignia would be over the stencils, as both were applied at the factory. Personally I would apply the insignia first and the stencils later. Then when it comes to the unit insignia, everything could happen.
Jasonb13
Thanks for your reply! That's kinda what I was thinking too, but it's good to get a second opinion! J.
