Decided to do this alongside the Kanonen Vogel

Did most of the cockpit last night, added the finishing touches tonight. It's a lot more sparse than the Academy Stuka, I was toying with the idea of some PE detailing, but couldn't wait really

I plan to close up the fuselage tomorrow night.

(Hmm, there's some massive ejector pin marks there, hopefully you wont be able to see them once it's closed up.........)

looking good so far, just a word of caution the decals are....well... pants, it may well be worth looking into some aftermarket as the sharksmouth will fight you tooth and nail and the rest of the decals are on the thick side. Great looking cockpit by the way.

dry fit of the canopy, so glad I got those masks!

Thanks for the encouragement guys :)

@TrojanThunder: they are literally just bits of Tamiya tape, cut to size then painted, no folding, just cut and stuck, then tarted up with three shades of paint and a bit of metal on black for the buckles and stuff.

@Moofles: thanks for the heads up, I was planning on doing the Ostfront version, so hopefully they will be a bit easier........

I've been a bit neglectful recently, work and family stuff.

Anyhow, I've masked up the cockpit and fixed it in place with some PVA.

I am so glad I decided to get the masks, this would have been hell cutting them to size, two of the masks needed trimming, but no biggy...

here it is

masked it up tonight, I hate masking...

coming along nicely that, with large areas of masking like that I usually put clingfilm over the large areas and secure them with tamiya tape, its more cost effective and while fiddly it can be quicker?

This seems to have gone without major upset....

Used Vallejo Model Air 92 Medium Green, seems a bit dark, but I will go over the centres of the panels with the same colour lightened with a cream colour of some sort, should add some depth to the proceedings. I'm going to mask it off and spray the camouflage colour (Vallejo Model Color 980 Black Green) first though, give it till tomorrow to dry properly.

The pre-shading seems to have worked nicely.

Some very nice paint work, right there.

Such effort in the tiny 1/72 scale always pleases me. :drink::worthy:
