Finemolds 1/35 Xwing...

Recommended Posts

...No they haven't release one. :P

Are we ever going to see another Xwing in this scale ( apart from the proshop kit) or will we have to wait till Moebius pulls one out of the hat again. All the scales seem to be covered 72/48 and 24 but its rare or relatively expensive in 32/35. The proshop Xwing is a good starting place but is well past its sell by date. FineMold Have moulds which were for the Kotobukiya Cross section kit but I presume they are contractually obliged not to release any kits from the moulds. Wonder if it is time limited, now that would be handy.

Anybody know of any rumblings from forums on this subject?

I haven't heard anything, but I've not been keeping that up to date. If there are contractual obligations with the cutaway version, perhaps they could get around that by simply releasing an unpainted, non-cutaway version using basically the same tooling. I have a cutaway one in the loft, just waiting for when I have the space to display it, then I'm planning to really go to town on it.

It just seems the next logical step after the 1/48 kit but these austere times an all that. <_< Its about time we had a new bigger xwing anyway ,stamps feet. Plenty more kits to practice on though while I wait for one. :D

Dont temp me. Thought those ole xwings scaled out to 1/24 some folks over at the props forums modded some of them. Unfortunately the threads are old and most of the links and pics dont work.

For a split second thought about one of those resin 1/24 x-wing's but like the 1/72 Falcon its a pipe dream. ( One, the falcon, went for £113 on ebay the other day)

If you want even bigger, the Kenner toy version is not bad for shape, and works out to about 1:18 scale! Could be the basis of a very detailed model...

We bought my little nephew one of them for his last birthday (Wedges Red 2 version).

The shape actually looks pretty good, but you'd have to do something to strengthen the floppy wings though. :hmmm:
