Thomas Lund
There is a FM Halifax in 1/48... Don't know if it's available though
Test Graham
I think that's a Mk.III - these transfers are for a Mk.II or Mk.V. Not a rumour I've heard, but who could it be? Realistically, who is going to do a 1/48 Halifax? Not one of the major companies.

The Fonderie kit is a B.III Sanger do a 1/48th vacform, both Hercules and Merlin versions. http://www.sangereng.fsnet.co.uk/handley_p...hercules_en.htm Sanger do quite a range but are supposed to be hard work... Screech
I can put some light on this one. Yes there is a new one coming, not a rehash, but a whole new tool injected molded kit. Big name manufacturer crawled all over a restored one close to where I live. No it is not Tamiya or Hasegawa. Hope this helps some. Cheers,
smackers
Hmm, could it be Revell? I guess alot of people would be hoping it is and they've certainly been releasing alot of new moulds of WWII aircraft with 2 or more engines in 1/72 and larger scales the last few years. Jennings Heilig
Revell in 1/48? Hmmm... don't think so. Not what I've heard. Given that their recent Allied bomber kits have all been in 1/72 (Lancaster, B-17G), I'd say the odds lay much higher for a 1/72 version.
Julien
Fonderie Miniature? yes, and having seen them in the box they are not good. of 5 I looked at all had the left and right fuselarge in differing lengths! Julien
Heraldcoupe
Revell already have development of their 1/72 Halifax well under way. They will doubtless have measured the surviving airframes to produce that kit, so "a company taking measurements" is liable to be a compelte red herring wrt a new 1/48 kit, Cheers, Bill. Test Graham
Revell have confirmed a 1/72 Halifax for later this year: they had the Matchbox one made up on their stand at the Nuremberg Fair. It seems as though it will be possible to do any version - although not I'm sure in any single issue. However, that still doesn't clear the air for a 1/48th one. Test Graham
If anyone has, they're not telling us. The transfers are also available in 1/72, despite the lack of a Mk.V is that scale either. Edited August 11, 2011 by Graham Boak

I'm dreading the release of that one, beause I just know it will set me off on Halifaxes and Lancasters. Maybe even B-17s...

Albeback52
"No it is not Tamiya or Hasegawa." Well, that's a relief Otherwise, you'd probably have to sell your children or take out a bank loan to be able to buy them!!
SeaVenom
It's obviously not Revell unless they've changed their mind and are doing the Halifax in 1/48.....which I very much doubt. If there is a new 1/48 Halifax....I bet it will be Trumpeter (which is a bit of a pain as they include those rubber/vinyl tyres).
Chris Jephcott
Any reason why it couldn't be airfix?? Oh and I guess this means that my FM Halifax is going to have to be put under the floor of the stash for a bit longer? This sounds really interesting! My money would be on Revell or Airfix to be honest... Then, all we will need is a 1/48 Stirling and I will live a happy man without ever adding to the stash again! It could be Airfix but I doubt it's Revell seeing as they've stated they're doing it in 1/72. I doubt they'd release a 1/48 kit the same time as their 1/72 kit. still think Trumpeter's the most likely.

Chris Jephcott
It's in hiding at the moment... for it's own sake. The more I look at it, the more I think I could do a good job with it!!! Oh god, what have I started???
Albeback52
: Has anyone thought to contact Kits-World to ask them what their decals are aimed at? E mailed them yesterday to ask this very question. Awaiting reply. I really hope it isn't one of the Far Eastern manufacturers. I'd like to be able to afford this model & they've priced themselves out of my market!
Radpoe Spitfire
don't bury under the floorboards or patio Chris, i'll have it! Nice to see someone else who can live with a FM Halifax. Ok it test your skills, but looks good when finished. Still, it'll be nice to see a 1/48 mainstream release though.
