Virgin Atlantic was formed in 1984 by Richard Branson,as a part of his Virgin group. It quickly became a popular airline now claiming to be the UKs second largest carrier with a fleet of long haul aircraft including the Boeing 747 (Jumbo Jet) Virgins 747-400 fleet is being given a new livery and this sheet will alow you to model one of the three aircraft given the make over.

The Boeing 747 is better known as the “Jumbo Jet” with its upper deck hump, and 4 engines in pods under the wings it is one of the most recognisable aircraft in the sky, first flown in 1969 it is still in production today following a number of improvements and model varients. The 747-400 that you need is available as an injection moulded kit from Revell.

The screen printed decal comes over 2 sheets, in the usual two-Six style that I love with the livery on one sheet with the second sheet being a comprehensive window/ door and airframe stencil sheet common to all 747 sheets. The colours look great and spot in to the real aircraft. The detail on the flying lady is very fine. You have the option of building one of 3 Virgin Jumbos with the fleet names and registrations noted on the instructions.

The instructions are colour drawings, with all decals numbered so easy to use and follow. Some colours are referenced back to the Xtracolour range, with the metallic/ candy red being more difficult to do. The best way that we have found is a few coats of clear red over a chrome/ silver base coat.

Conclusion

Another very nice sheet from Two Six! This will allow you to build an up-to date Virgin Jumbo, and I know some people have stuck this sheet to the Airbus A380!
