Viking
I have long wanted to make one of these, and had an old Airfix stashed away waiting for the day. It is the most beautiful combination of aeroplane and colour scheme ever known to man. I used replacement resin engines from Braz, and the decals are from Twosix and are superb, absolutely brillaint. I chose to make G-ARVM as she still exists in the Brooklands museum. Here she is in all her glory, I now need to make a BOAC 707 to go alongside! Bertie McBoatface
She was a beaut, and so is your model. 1964 kit? 21st Century build!
Vulcanicity
I wouldn't get a 707: even if you make it as beautifully as this kit, it'd look ugly next to that marvellous shape. Lovely build!
AnonymousFO98
Nicely built! Brings back memories Used to see Tridents and VC10s going in and out of Elmdon from our house. The VC10 was my favourite airliner. So gorgeous. Scratchbuilding replacement engines from bras is amazing Does the wife know? canberraman
Truly devine John, an inspirational build. That BOAC scheme certainly took some beating. Thanks for sharing. Mark

woody37
Gorgeous. The Two Six 707 decals are just as good as the VC10 ones, agree, true beauty.

Paul
What a beauty!  The BOAC markings were just so classy and definitely looked best on the VC10. Would have loved to have seen a Concorde in that scheme
trpsarge
Spenta day watching a VC10 doing touch and goes some years back albeit an RAF one, what an aeroplane. lovely model.
Viking
Thanks for kind comments, I've had this one in mind for a long time. I'm lucky enough to remember seeing standards & supers in this livery back in the 70's at Heathrow. Never thought it would end, and that BA scheme they were repainted in was just horrible. Stiil, I witnessed the era of true elegence. Scratchbuilding replacement engines from bras is amazingDoes the wife know? Well, they are slung in pairs Cheers, John
