MikeR
Quick Update: Deck finished, on to the detail painting and tidying. I did have a photo of the front end, but it was too blurry to make out details. As she looks at the moment: Mike.
Silver Fox
Looks very nice to me. I built a lot of these back in the early to mid 1970' and enjoyed them immensely. I think you said that the moel was an unpadate version of the orginal kit. Have you any idea how they compare? Cheers.

MikeR
Thanks oldhouse! I think you said that the moel was an unpadate version of the orginal kit. Have you any idea how they compare? Here's a comparison with the original Furutaka kit: The new kit surpasses it in every way. Mind you, my skills have come on a bit since I built the Furutaka! The Kako's almost done - just the boats to tidy up and then final assembly, varnishing etc. The two aircraft are just about ready to be nipped off the sprues, assembled, tidied and marked. As she is now, by herself: Mike.
Silver Fox
Thanks for the photos, I built the Furutaka as well so it brings back lots of memories. I think I need to pick up a few of these kits.

Shar2
Very nicely done, though some etched railings would really have finished it off IMHO.
MikeR
Thanks for the comments guys! I haven't quite plucked up the courage to add PE to ships, I'm still dabbling with it in my aircraft models. Once I feel more confident I'll more than likely start adding it on. Mike.
