SaintsPhil
Afternoon, I have finally got round to creating an RFI thread to go with my WIP in the GB area, which is here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=70950 This is one of a pair of GR1 sent to Belize, for a short while it wore a fetching sharks mouth, but the decals didn't come with one! I tried to find one to fit, but no luck. The GR1 were normally gloss DSG/DG with Lt AC Grey undersides, but this aircraft was repainted all over Matt DSG/DG in field. The Drop tanks and Arden pods retained their previous Gloss finishes. The kit is the Fujimi AV8A kit, which I added various bits to, mostly from a donor Airfix GR7. I made a bit of a cockup here by adding the intakes from the GR7, to get the dropped doors, only to have it pointed out that there are less doors on the gen II harriers.... I made the FOD guards from sheet Styrene and added an Aeroclub seat. This was my first attempt at free hand cammo with an airbrush, I'm quite pleased with the results, see what you think. Again excuse the quality of the pics, taken with a compact digital. I personally think this is my best kit so far, so let the comments and critism commence! Bertie McBoatface
Nice paint job. The Harrier is an awkward shape to spray and you did it well, I think.

Selwyn
Lovely Gr1! Just a quick point , GR1/2 (And T2/4) Harriers when parked had their nosewheel doors open. They were opened on engine shutdown by the groundcrew to allow access to the accumilators etc in the nosewheel bay. They closed automatically on engine start. SaintsPhil
I did think about that but the only pics I could find of this jet, showed them closed while it was parked up. Maybe this was due to operational conditions? Phil
