SaintsPhil
Afternoon! I built this kit some time ago, and took the photos during the last period of nice weather. It's the old, and fairly naff, airfix kit and it very nearly ended up in the bin several times! This is the first kit I've fully rescribed, not my favorite job, but it's not put me off doing it again. I added the Pavla Resin cockpit to it, which was one of the reasons it nearly got binned! The pit fitted ok, but I didn't think to check the fit of the front canopy, which must be about a scale foot thick. I had to chop a large chunk of the nice resin away to get it on, but I think I got away with it! I also used the airwaves PE set, and added some depth to the engines by drilling them out and adding strene rod. I had big plans of scratch building some detail into the wheel bays, but I lost interest after scribing! Finally I added some White metal flaps, these were in the Airwaves set, but I assume I was just lucky, as I bought the set from eBay. I realised too late, that with the flaps down the slats should be deployed as well really.....oh well! On to the photos, not the best I'm afraid as taken with SWMBO digital compact. Comments and criticism very welcome! I'm a big Northampton Saints rugby fan, hence the scheme and the display name! Phil
roys
Very nice-I found snapping the nose probe off these models on a regular basis to be somewhat tedious!

roys
Oh yes about 3 times that got broken off I think! I have got a number of these to make and I think the answer is either a guard taped to the nose during construction or alternatively a removeable one made from piano wire with the end dipped in glue to represent the teardrop shape. SaintsPhil
With all the kits OOP I guess no one (master) will do a turned brass replacement! Shame as they are great! Phil
Martian
A nice tidy effort! I like it. Martin
Davec_24
Very nice, don't they look smart in black? The Jag is one of those jets that really had character, such a shame we don't get them around nowadays.
