Hi all,

After doing a search I have come unstuck, I intend to make the old Frog kit but with a scratchbuilt cockpit and troop cabin interior. Does anyone know what the cockpit/cabin looked like? Any help would be greatly received!

Not much help, but there's a replica at the Museum of Army Flying, at Middle Wallop; bit of a hike, for you, unfortunately. There's a nose stored (probably on the north side) at Duxford, as well.

The Middle Wallop replica is hanging from the ceiling, pretty much inaccessible for your purposes I'm afraid.

The museum display gives little information on the replica, in fact it's only by reading between the lines that I established it was a replica, rather than a restoration. I would guess though that images must exist of the restoration in-progress, or prior to it's hanging - contacting the museum is likely to be more productive than an off-chance visit,

Cheers,

Bill.

Well it was wooden construction, so I am guessing much of the interior would be unpainted. Just a guess, unless anybody knows better?

The restored Horsa at Middle Wallop is painted green inside, construction and materials being similar between the two types,

I remember seeing the two Horsa's at Pegasus Bridge's museum, one real one in a glass case and the "fun" replica on display. The interiors were indeed the usual suspect "Interior Green" ish

The real fuselage inside its glass case (OK a bloody big glass sided shed) didn't allow much investigation but I'm sure I saw Int Green as well as well crumbly timber and external Dk Gn, Dk Earth and Night along with the usual invasion striping

I wish I could get the missing jpegs out of my hard drive from 2007, one day maybe

(dont ask, its a long tedious story) :(

Thanks for the help guys, it looks like it's not going to be mega complicated! I will have to keep trawling for the forward section of the crew cabin!

If you PM me I can provide copies of the Hotspur AP which will give you all the detail you'll need.

From what I can discover the interior wasn't painted, although the interior of the rear fuselage incorporated into the Middle Wallop replica was painted silver.

I've got the same kit and all I have is this:

Aeronut, if I could also pitch in for a copy of the AP this would be much appreciated, thank you.

Many thanks to Aeronut (Alistair) for the images they will prove most helpful!
