tommyinuk0
Hi, These are pictures of my Airfix 1:48 BAC Lightning which I did out of the box to represent XS903. The version of XS903 which is intended is different to the one I did, which I found after a bit of research operated with 11 Sqn with the black spine. I used some spare 11 Sqn tail decals from a Tornado kit to achieve the finish . This is a classic kit and is lovely to build. I found though that some of the plastic had warped, but with a bit of work this can be solved. There is provided a huge decal sheet and the masses of decals took hours to apply. But the finished product is well worth the work and effort. Thanks for looking at this model and if you wish to leave any comments, points or views please feel free. Many thanks Tommy

Lightningboy2000
A very nicely weathered worn and battered - near retirement Lightning. Superb! Martin

Graham T
Super job but you should now that Lightnings should only EVER be portrayed in natural metal finish. All other schemes are heretical & therefore banned . I'm working on one at the moment with the CE cockpit & other refinements.
martin77
That is suitably grubby and dirty, like a Lightning should be. Lovely build, of a beautiful aircraft.
