You asked about other Lysanders to consider? How about a 613 Squadron one?

They served in France & Paddy Barthrop (B of B fame) served with them.

Regards Rad.

Hi guys

Many thanks for your comments. I really appreciate them.

I've always fancied the RCAF target-tug colours

We are going to include this RCAF target tug 1557 Mk III --- --- Patricia Bay 1944 because it had not only the common yellow / black colours but also a small places of white.

And these two others target tug Lysanders.

V9905 Mk III --- --- Yeovil 1941

T1445 Mk III K-W6-K 755 NAS Worthy Down 1941-1942

I may have to talk with you about decals one of these days

Yes,. When ever you need. Keep in mind that a friend of us make the special decals for us. (only the ones we cannot make but cutting or modifying the ones we have).

Thanks Seahawk. I hope you like it when it was finished.

Could be an option. Sorry for my ignorance but did they had any special performance, scheme or marking. I will have to look at our files since I do not remember having information about Lysanders of the 613 Squadron.

Kind regards

Hi Santiago,

The 613 Sqn used both Hawker Demons and Lysanders during the Battle of France in the AOP role, the colour scheme used was standard dark green/ dark earth, with black/??silver or white?? undersides. codes (ZR-?) were Grey and aircraft were fitted with bomb racks which remained on return to the UK.

On return, the squadron was based at RAF Firbeck- a comandeerd civil aerodrome a few miles to the east of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, before transferring to RAF Doncaster. Here they changed aircraft and began to operate Curtis P40's.

.

A number of photos exsist of these aircraft taken at Firbeck (one with Paddy Barthrop stood in front) and some can be seen on display at Doncaster Aeroventure aircraft museum. Incidentally the new Eduard kit seems to have a 613 machine as ZR letters are on the decal sheet.

I hope this helps & look forward to see the end results.

Regards Rad.

A Correction, 613Sqn used Hawker Hectors not Demons in the Battle of France.

If you're doing any RCAF Mk.II's, you may want to think about adding this mod to the exhaust collector.

Hi

Here is a little update on these Lysanders. My father has been working hard in order to get the correct decals. In some cases he made them by pieces like the Enamelled Polish Air Force symbol in one fuselage.
