hacker
been trying to sort out the underside of the tigermoth. Mainly the area concerning where the fuselage and the wing meet. Was there any panel likes in that area of the wing/fuselage area? I am doing some filling and sanding so l need to know if l need to re-scribe the joints or leave them thanks

hacker
ok l cropped the section in question on that pic and have now more questions. l see the panel lines in question but it seems that this section is different from the kit version. Also there is those two for lack of a better term stiffeners. Is this typical of the aircraft or just this example?

Also there is those two for lack of a better term stiffeners. Is this typical of the aircraft or just this example? There are two stiffening strakes and at the forwards end there are two wooden blocks either side of the slot through which the lower end of the stick projects. These blocks limit/adjust aileron movement. The aileron cables are connected to the stick extension and the balance cables connect to the end of a free pivoted arm in front of the stick. There is an inspection panel in line with the main u/c legs. John Edited June 28, 2011 by John Aero

And it just occurred to me that there's one a little more than an hour away- not bad for the coast of Maine. bob
