Avro Vulcan 1/72 Airfix

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, this is my first post and I would like to show you my last project (actually is my 4th model),the Avro Vulcan in 1/72 scale.

The first thing that I had to do was to rescribe all the panel lines. After that I build the bomb bay from scratch.

I got Flightpath's vulcan B2 detail set,Two Mikes resin's landing gear bays and decals from Airdeal. The model was painted with White Ensign enamels,Tamiya acrylics and Model Master acrylic varnishes.

If that is your 4th build I love to see your first.... actually come to think about it maybe I wouldn't.

I would say you have done the subject matter great justice with that build... very nice indeed, of course you know that you've set the bar high now and we will expect great things with #5

Wow S-mat, that is outstanding :thumbsup2:

:welcome:

Thanks for taking the time to share your Vulcan.

You're obviously a fast learner. I can't build a model that cleanly and I've been playing at it for years.

Lovely smooth paint finish and decals that look painted on. You've achieved a real pro standard already.

:goodjob:

Keep at it, enjoy the forums and please show more of your work soon.

Super quality Vulcan there. Best I ever saw! I actually worked on that beast back in 1979 at Waddo. You have it (almost) perfect. Looking at the standard of accuracy of the rest of the jet, I guess you will appreciate knowing about the one slip up? The bomb bay doors don't open like that but inwards in inverted v shapes so that they don't hang out in such a draggy fashion. Here's a couple of pics...

I hoped that no one noticed but obviously I was wrong :P
