Jaguar GR3 Airfix 1/48

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all the comments, Paul, my first ATC camp was at Lossie in 91, Jags, Buccaneers, Hunters and Shackletons. It was the last weeks if not the actual last week of the Shackletons service and I remember them beating up the runway, one of my fellow cadets managed to get a low level flight in a Hunter too, lucky bugger!

Another quick update, the decals are all on...................

what decals did you use for this mate youv given me an idea (wont be anything like this standard though lol)

The decals are from the Model Alliance sheet for the 16 & 54 Sqn anniversary markings, I've just used the squadron markings from that, although I have a small problem in that I don't have the tail code so might have to use the kit tail codes and serials, problem with that is the kit serials look slightly too small and they don't provide the code for the nose gear door.

Thanks for all the comments, hopefully another update tomorrow.

  • 2 weeks later...

Getting there now, Just really got to get the SAC undercart together and idy up a few odds and ends. Still not decided whats going on the centre pylon, may use my DJRP recce pod as a lot of the photo's I've seen of the Jag in last few years of service seem to be wih it carrying one. A big plus point in the last week was my purchase of some Alclad Klear Kote Flat, used it last night and appears to be wonderful stuff, if theres a catch I've not found it yet! Anyway heres the photo's of the build so far............
