Thanks lads and glad to hear it's inspiring you to do something similar. Still have the Tamiya 72nd scale kit and Aries detail set for a planned 602 Sqn. maintainance scene sometime to illustrate my grandfather's job on the Merlin engines sometime soon.

Rest assured I'll be searching out your WiP thread for hints and tips ;)

The one in the Aries set looks good enough but dare say we'll find out once the tinkering starts

Lovely Col. I like the stand too.

Cheers but still think I can come up with something 'nicer' if that makes sense? My grandfather made a brass Spitfire model mounted on a cloud-shaped piece of Perspex (allegedly from a German bomber) attached to a section of old wooden propeller blade so I'm going to try something similar as a further tribute to him. Not sure I want to know where he found a lump of brass big enough to fashion an 8" span Spitfire from in 1939

He also made a Blenheim in a similar style as well as an ashtray from a piece of brass sheet supported by three spent .303 rounds. Guess they were a bit bored until things kicked off back then.

Lovely, it really is. As I said before, it is great to see a 602 machine being modelled and wish there were more (not that I can say anything, a lot of my stash is for 602 aircraft which I haven't built yet...). Dave

Ditto!! And how the heck did I miss the Fundekals sheet!

Got my sheets today, they are rather nice - and theyhave a little update sheet to correct the roundels and codes from the original sheet that isn't on the website.

how do you make the spinning prop??  ive always wanted to do one

It started as a disc of clear plastic cut from an old CD case, carefully drilled a hole in the center to accept a small bolt that served to mount it in a Dremell-type rotary tool for shaping and polishing with Micromesh.
