rs2man
Are the earlier Jag's black too , or just the GR3's ?
SaintsPhil
From all the research I've done they are all black, however I wait to be corrected....
JagRigger
Yep - all black ( with bits of bare metal, zinc chromate primer etc etc )

thx6667
It’s so black, you can hardly even make out its shape. Light just falls into it.

Does it have black switches labelled in black on a black background with a small black light which lights up black to show when you've pressed it ? Bobski
Panels are black, however I believe the tub and pedals are Dark Admiralty Grey: Web Image
Mike
Judging by the height of those people, I'd say that's just a mock-up. The Hammerite-esque paint on the IP, lack of scuffing on any of the surfaces and the weird looking seat cushion makes me wonder that too

And yes all cockpits are black (Except were it's been worn away to zinc chromate or bare metal) Andy

pte1643
Panels are black, however I believe the tub and pedals are Dark Admiralty Grey: I have some pics I took of the (ex Mick Jennings) Cockpit at Norwich Airport Museum. Jag Cockpit section is from XZ375 "Guardian Reader". The photos show that BOTH the Tub and Panels are Black, I can post them if you (or anyone) would like, but they are taken "through the glass" as the canopy wasn't open. Still show some reasonable detail though.
ghaynes
For what it's worth the GR.1A I'm restoring at Bentwaters has a predominently black cockpit interior except for the sidewalls (above the side consoles and below the cockpit ledge) and rear bulkhead, which are dark grey. I have a thread on here somewhere which has cockpit shots. Will post the link if I find it. EDIT...thread is here . Floor under the seat is also dark grey as are the rudder pedals. Regards. jaguarfan
When I worked on the GR1 and T2 Jaguars at Warton in the 70's the cockpit interiors were all black, the pedals and sides which look dark grey are simply faded black. cheers Bob
ghaynes
It's definitely not faded black in our GR.1A at Bentwaters. Most definitely dark grey so perhaps it appeared later on? Regards.
