Tango 1
Hello! After a long time away from the bench, I found this 1:43 scale AMT X-Wing fighter in the stash and thought it would be a nice easy build to get me back into the swing of things. I have always wanted to build a half decent X-wing for my desk so I set about making this model a little more "screen accurate." It's not a perfect build, but it turned out OK in the end. Modifications included: New instrument panel from spares. Scratch made internal panels for the wings. Remodelled "Luke" figure using the dire OOB figure as a base to work on. I drilled out and cut away the torpedo tubes, then boxed them off, much more realistic looking now. Used stills from the films to paint on accurate markings. The base utilises the kit stand on a homemade display base made with bits from the spares box. This was a really enjoyable build that left me smiling from start to finish! I hope you enjoy seeing it. cjhm
Superb, love it Had fun picking out parts you used for base (very effective) - I spot a pen lid and electrical connector block I think together with the kit parts Edited June 8, 2011 by cjhm

Obi-Jiff Kenobi
Brilliant! What a great piece of work, and I particularly like the animated pose of the pilot. I can just hear him calling out "Blast it Biggs, where are you?".
