Rosco
Currently trying to move all the kits to the loft as well as building some shelf units etc. This leaves me with instructions, decals and resin that I am keeping downstairs as I don't want it to suffer extremes of temperature. I am putting everything for one model into a large ziplock bag but even with a small stash the space it takes up is silly. What methods of storage do you use for this ? Alex Gordon
Most of my decals live in a largeish Ziploc bag complete with a couple of pouches of Silica Gel for good measure.Resin is not something I handle too often so I'm not sure how to deal with it. JohnT
The advice re decals I got on here was take them out of the boxes in storage and insert into plastic sleeves and into an A4 ring binder. I keep them in the spare room where they don't suffer temperature or humidity changes and that works well. Can't help on the resin though but wiser heads will answer that one John
Howard of Effingham
most of my resin bits are stored in a small bedside set of drawers that i accquired from a carboot some years ago. it keeps them dry and safe, safe that is from things like feet/shoes and other boxes. bootneck
I learned that a good way to look after resin is to keep the items in a foam-lined box. The box is a standard cardboard box (the more bits, the bigger box) and it is lined with 2cm thick styrene foam sheets, including the top. This gives the box a stable ambient temperature, as the foam protects the inside from temperature changes on the outside. I can keep this box in the loft without worries about the contents. Medical supplies are delivered in these types of containers so keep your eyes out for those types as they are almost air-tight. As to decals, it has mostly been said, take the decals out of their boxes and place them in plastic sealable bags. The Silica Gel sachets are a bonus if you use them. I keep all the decals in sealed bags, and place them in a drawer in the modelling room. HTH Mike
