Looking at this on my blackberry at the hospital. From what i can see it looks good matey, the only thing that i think you need to do is use masking tape for the blue as it does look a little messy. Other than that i love it but then i am a BA fan.

i do use masking tape, but it lifts and rips the paint when i lift it, im currently after some tamiya tape

Use ebay you can get good deals on it like 2 rolls for £5 etc. I use 10mm and 6mm, 18 mm is good for large areas.

Hi Madaboutmodels

It looks like you use a brush to apply paint on your kits. If that is the case, if you brush too hard over the masked areas, the paint will seep through as the brush push aside the taped edges. Try painting on the masked area towards where you want the paint to go. Just my 2 cents

also make sure you wash you model before you paint, and I sand it lightly, prime then mask to colour. If the model isnt clean the paint can lift when you pull the tape off. Also when you de-mask pull it slowly and back on its self.

another thing to try -

spray your models using Halfords - they have most colours, including white and a close match to

BA's blue...

once you start this you will also discover the delights of masking....

with this particular model it can be a bit tricky but it's worth it

first spray it completely with halfords primer, comes in white or grey

then mask the lower part where the blue goes, spray the white

let it dry for a couple of days....

this helps the paint dry properly and will help with the paint lifting off problem

then mask off all the white parts using tamiya tape for the line between the blue and and the white

and you can use more or less anything for masking the rest,

I use the clear wrapping that magazines come in, cut to the shape I want

(have a look at my topic on the Continental Boeing 777 - there's a pic of this)

Then you can spray the blue

it does take practice and dont hold the can too close, coz halfords paint comes gushing out

so it's a quick 'swoooosh' across the model

it's worth the hassle of masking, re-masking etc tho.

takes practice, like most things but...

practice doesnt make perfect;

practice makes permanent.

which means if you practice something wrong often enough, you'll be permanently wrong.

Loads of people on this site will help with airbrush probs or any other prob for that matter so

dont be shy, just ask

...and the only silly question is the one that doesnt get asked :)

so ask anything anytime - somebody will know the answer
