get a new cannopy

fill the trenchs - but are they ok?

Nice Hawk! not a Canberra though :( One big thing with all the Airfix 1/48 Canberra's is the leading edge on the fin, it extends to far so needs chopping back and re-profiling, not a big job.

The other things are the tail planes they should be strait all the way up to the fuselage but they aren't you can get replacement resin parts to address boath these issues.

The opening for the cockpit should be round not the shape of the canopy!

You will need to add the landing light on the underside of the port wing, another easy job, still under the wing Airfix missed the air brakes, not so easy to re scribe (don't tell any one but I've never bothered) The Ailerons need trim tabs. If you are replacing the seats use Aeroclub seats AJ420 for me the best representation of the Canberra seat around, they should be Mk.1cs but 2cs is fine there's not a huge difference check out the Canberra seats on my site.

There may be more but that's all I can think of for now!

@ John - what about the rudder? I keep reading there's a 'problem' with it, but like Mark said, never read what the 'problem' is! Is it just the scribed detail on it??

Keef (with 5 of these things to build & nowhere to put them....!!!)

Hi Keef

5! you're going to need a hell of a lot of filler!! As far as I'm concerned the only problem is the ridiculous trenches on the rudder. It also needs a little fairing for the actuator arm on the trim tab too but that's not much.

John

PS. If you want to follow what promises to me a fantastic build thread for an early B.2 the have a look here WH729 Suez Canberra Build by one of the SIG members.

im going to go kick it!

Watch you don't hurt your foot....!!

Thanks John, I now have that build bookmarked! A 27 sqn machine is one I want to do, as my son-in-law is aircrew on 27's Wokkas at the moment, so I have a plan to do as many as their aircraft as possible!

Cheers

That sounds like a good project Keef, The 27 Sqn B.2 looks very smart with the cheat line / go faster stripe!
