Mark M
hi guys, at the moment im struggling to get any modelling done so in an attempted to keep my modelling going, im trying to source the references i need for my plans, i have a 1/48 B2 to build (thanks to the seller you know who you are!) now i want to build this virtually OOB as the Scampton Bird WD965 in Grey / Black, but im struggling to find ref material, and the one odd piccy ive found shows her a couple of years later in 57 at woodbridge in the same scheem but with a grey tail section, and all the photos shoe the same side (port) so guys can you help, im after 1. ANY photos of her in grey / black (especially with the different tail) 2. any photos of other B2's in grey black thanks i know there are those cranberrie fans out there also, if there are many canges i need to do, i have a rough idea going from other build threads and i know this has been covered alot Mark
canberra kid
Hi Mark What side do you have the photo of? The one I have of 965 is of the port side when she was with 10 Sqn. As for mods above and beyond all the things you need to do on the Airfix B.2 You will need to reposition the fuel vent from the tail to the fuselage side, see IPMS UK Canberra SIG for photo, also it's a possibility that she my not have had FOD guards fitted to the nose wheels but that depends on time frame. Perhaps tail is a replacement unit as I haven't seen any black/grey Canberras with that before? Andy

andym
That will make it different, are you just going to assume it's same grey as fuselage?
canberra kid
Interesting. Perhaps tail is a replacement unit as I haven't seen any black/grey Canberras with that before?Andy I recon it's a replacement unit from a medium sea gray/ Slate gray and PRU blue B.2 John
Mark M
i was thinking it had been stolen, but was hoping to get some more refs, but was thinking sea grey
canberra kid
Or, it could be from a PR.3 then it would be MSG all over, I can't see any darker colour on the tip of the rudder so that would discount the SG/MSG B.2 theory some what. the only other possibility would be good old High Speed Silver but I'd say that was even less likely, so for my money I'd say MSG.
