james424
So I'm thinking about investing in the kit to start airbrushing my models. I've seen a nice 'begginer' kit from airbrushcompressorshop.co.uk which gives me a nice little compressor and two different types of airbrush for about £70 - I think thats quite a bargain, The pump has a moisture trap and a pressue guage on it and the two airbrushes are good for details stuff AND wide area coverage. Does anyone know if I need to look for anything specific or have any experience of dealing with this website (I'd like to know whether or not they're or not obviously; OR am I on to a good little starter kit??? Cheers guys, James
SaintsPhil
Sounds like the starter kit I got, or very similar. One piece of advice, go for a compressor with a tank. Not much more expensive but I regret not getting one! The airbrushes aren't the best, I knackered both of mine after a few weeks, combination of no instructions and not having a clue what to do with them! I since watched loads of videos on you tube and know where I went wrong!
Daniel
You'd be better off spending more on less... If you can't afford more then find a better brush instead of 2 cheaper ones... Have you had a look at little-cars website? Dan
T-Tango
Have a look in the Airbrushes/Compressor forums, loads of posts on exactly what you want to know.
james424
Tango - didn't realise there was a forum for that, on my way now. Daniel - I'll have to see what the boss/wife lets me buy, but what you say makes sense. Phil - I'll do some youtube-ing before I buy anything. Learn some lessons first. I could really do to find someone near Lincoln who I can pop and see so I can be shown how to do it properly... Oh, and just out of interest phil (and so I can make new and original mistakes of my own) where did you go wrong? Right, back to the research.
