phat trev,

I think it's around £ 23 to 25 at ModelZone. Kit #4550 at least, that's what I've paid for it in the past.

Very nice kit too. ( I 've got 2 of them ) Can't see it on Hannants www though.

Regards,

Gerard

Am I right in saying that the Revell issue is the better build, ie. Fit

I built a revell one a few years back and it's great. But i have also built the academy one and encountered no problems what so ever. A bit of filler is needed here and there on both, but nothing major.

I'd say the fit of the nose section on the Revell is better. I've just built an Academy F 15 and are no locating tabs to aid alignment and successful glueing in place. I know, I knocked the nose section off it. Twice.

The Revell has locating tabs to get this joint right. The Academy was sand, prime, sand...repeat until boredom sets in!

I had no problems like this at all. Strange.

Not to mention the Academy F-15 kit shape errors and the horrible fit of the intake ducts. Fill, sand, prime, and repeat alright as the sink lines at the base of the vertical tails, wings, stabs, and other parts can be significant. A lot more work than even the Hasegawa or Monogram kits, but at least the new releases do have some nice and up-to-date ordinance.

If one decides to go with the Academy F-15 (any vairant or release), here are some build tips I came up with that should help; just scroll down to "post 40".

I'd vote for the Revell F-15 E also- with the Tiger meet markings. Excellent kit, aftermarket available if you want it.
