Mirage Resin 1/48 IAe 24 Calquin - Argentinian Mosquito-alike

No photo - I'm afraid its in the loft ( but they can be provided) - but I have a jerry rutman 1/32 brewster B239 ( Finnish buffalo), unmade, virgin and still in its foam packaging.

The run on this kit was apparently less than a dozen, and the molds were then sold, and then lost in a fire.

Vlam ma boy, if you fancy a trade or buy for the Calquin - drop me a line!

Cheers

Jon KT

PS - that Aussie Whiffer looks lke an F8U crossed with a Lightning - cool

No desire to sell or trade it but will post the contact email for Mirage if you want to contact them to get one...

Mine would be:

Tom's Modelworks 1/48 Albatros W4

Aeroclub 1/48 Sopwith Pup

Koster Aero Enterprises 1/48 Fokker EV/VIII

I will build them someday, once I can find suitable and affordable replacement decals, they are either bad or missing altogether.

I don't know how rare the are, but I've got:

1/48 Dynavector:- Javelin, Sea Vixen, Scimitar and TSR.2, 1/48 FM Fouga Magistair, and a couple of 1/72 Airfix Canberra's.

As for esoteric, I'd have to say my 1/48 ARBA Miles M.52

I'm sure I've got others, but I can't think at the moment..

Mine probably aren't all that rare or esoteric, but I've got the Aeroclub 1/48 Strikemaster with 14sqn RNZAF decals, and a 1/48 High Planes Hawk Mk127.

The 1/48 RNZAF A4K boxing of Hasegawa's Skyhawk is fairly rare and sought after these days, but still only a few years old, so not quite in the same league as some of the examples posted by others.

Quite possibly the rarest kit I've got is the 120mm Firing Line British soldier in tropical dress that came with the little parade base with bollards.

Not sure if there rare or not, but they are to me:

1 x 1/72 Frog B(1) Canberra

1 x 1/72 Welsh models Andover

1 x 1/72 Airfix Beagle Basset

Hmm, tricky. Possibly one of the rarest (in this country at least) is the Tamiya 1/20 McLaren F1 car from 1998, Japanese GP edition, which was only made for the Japanese market, and included different front and rear wings from the normal version, and full cigarette ads (naughty). Or it might be the resin 1972 JPS Lotus in the same scale, from a Brazilian company whose name escapes me.

The most esoteric could be the Airfix Robins, or a vinyl Lady Penelope. If conversions are allowed, I've got a resin/metal set to convert the AMT USS Enterprise (Next Generation) into the 3-engined version seen in an alternate future in the final episode - still haven't bought the kit to use it on, mind.

Sorry for the lack of photos, but they're all in the loft, along with hundreds of others.

Thankyou - if its still being made - then I have to have one!

Jon

The man to contact is Jose-Miguel Fernandez at Mirage and his email addy is: [email protected]

It doesn't work out cheap with postage from Argentina (although in the UK the US$/£ exchange rate helps!) but it is a fab little kit

There is a build of it in the gallery on ARC

Rare(ish) kits I have are,

Airfix Canberra

Airfix Bluetits

Silver Cloud Spiteful

Bunch of early Revell UK kits

Esoteric, probably the same, the Spiteful and the Blue Tits. I also have a prototype ME163 kit whihc is a bit of an oddball, nothing like some of the stuff on here though.

Cool thread! :speak_cool:

My oldest has to be the Gowlands issue (pre Revell) of the vintage car. The box was the same for every model with only a stamped name on the end of the box. 1954 .

The 1:75 scale Hasegawa "Pete" is most probably the "oddball"
