F-105 centreline pylon

I've put a post in the wants section but patience is a virtue and I've given those up for Lent (or maybe longer). So I ask for tolerance of this duplication.

I'm looking for a 1/72 centreline pylon for a Thud so I can put an MER on the centreline of my Dragon F-105D. The MER is no problem but there's only wing pylons for it in the kit. I seem to remember there was one in the old Hasegawa kit - don't know for Airfix or Revell but there's not one in the Monogram F-105G.

Does anyone have either a spare pylon or decent drawing thereof please?

Ross,

Are you still looking for that pylon?

I have a spare Hasegawa F-105D in the stash, but I won't be able to dig it out until tomorrow. In the meantime, I can scan drawings and photos for you.

Hi Bill,

Still looking, either for a pylon or an accurate drawing I can use to take dimensions from please, I can trade some weapons from the Trumpy kit to dress up your Hasegawa kit if you like,

Thanks,

Ross

Ross,

I'll crank up the scanner. I found a drawing in the Squadron/Signal publication "Thud", and a few good pictures in other books. All I need is an email address to send them.

I also have a few Monogram F-105D kits, and they probably have the pylons. I'll check those tomorrow.

Don't worry about a trade. I have the Trump kits here somewhere, along with way too many other kits. I'm trying to thin the herd as it is. And that Hasegawa kit has to be over 40 years old, and not even on my build list. If you can use the pylon, that's great.

Hi Ross,

I have the Hasegawa and Monogram kits here, and the Hasegawa kit is really showing its age.

The MER and pylon are molded together in the Monogram kit, but will seperate easily with the careful application of a razorsaw.

And there's this: http://www.hyperscale.com/2008/features/f105d72rf_1.htm

While scanning pics of the pylon I noticed a few shots that seemed to show a deeper pylon, the distance from top to bottom of pylon about double the usual, while maintaining the same nose-down attitude. It was new to me.

Let me know what you'd like.

Hi Bill,

I'll PM you my email address, thank you. The aircraft I'm modelling is the 'Lizard' scheme one from the Two Bobs sheet 72-079 which appears in all the photos I have with the centreline MER and a pylon which looks fairly shallow at the rear end. I do have some photos of other aircraft with a deeper pylon but with something other than an MER attached.
