Here's some detail photos of the Vickers Vincent NZ311 (ex-K6357) being rebuilt to static display condition at Dairy Flat in Auckland, New Zealand. Some of my pics are not the greatest, but I don't claim to be a good photographer! The hanger where she is being built unfortunately has green coloured skylight panels, and the whole area is bathed in a weird green light which it's a real b**** to remove from the photos! I hope they will be of use to anyone building a Vildebeest/Vincent. Starboard side engine cowling and pilot's cockpit area.Starboard side centre section and wing root.Wheel spat.Undercarriage leg.Cabane struts and upper wing centre section.Starboard undercarriage leg, struts and oil cooler.Looking up into the pilot's cockpit - the quadrant and arm are for seat adjustment.Starboard centre section details.Looking up at the forward undersides of the nose - the 'hole' is for the bomb/torpedo aimer.The bomb aimers control switch panel on the starboard side of the 'hole'.The aimers instrument panel - more instruments to find for this as yet - once again, there's the good old brass light switch!Looking up through to the rear of the 'hole' and the centre section internals.Looking forwards and up to the rear underside of the pilots seat showing the mountings, and some of the cockpit controls. No, no estimate as yet to when she will be completed as they are still looking for many parts, including an exhaust collector assembly for the 'Peggie' and lots of other bits and pieces. They have several sets of wings to use, but it's all those little bits that are needed. The collection is not open to the public, only by special arrangement, which I can sort out for you no problem if you are planning another trip out here. Cheers, Pete M. Note the differences in many items, specially the ailerons! The final pic is the pilots instrument panel, which didn't appear to change between marks.
