Kev1n
I'm just guessing here but it might be something to do with what colour paint goes over another. eg - You can't spray Halfords gloss appliance white on a model, then spray another colour halfords over that - the second colour will crack apart like a dried up river bed. What kind of enamel are you using?

What kind of enamel are you using? I'm using hombrol Kevin. It must be this kit. It's the 2nd time it's happened. I let it soak in tesco all purpose cleaner over night before to take the lot of. I've just got some appliance White from halfords so I'll rub it all down again, prim it and so on... Fingers crossed this time Edited April 7, 2011 by cuprar
Kev1n
Dont think it will be the kit itself, more to do with primer and coats of paint if your going to use Halfords dont put anything over the appliance white. like I said, whatever goes over the white WILL crack

atdb27
Could also be to do if the Halfords is Cellulose based. With a Synthetic primer base. It's the old saying "you can put Salt on Chips but you cant put Chips on Salt" Adrian

woody37
I've never had any problems painting over appliance white, it's bullet proof in my experience. Looking forward to seeing this finished, great looking scheme.

woody37
I'm surprised at what you're saying Kev as I normally spray the white first, then mask and apply all the other colours over the top. The only thing I've had issues with is Tamiya silver rattle can. I've not tried acrylics over it yet, but enamels have been fine and that's after 24 hours drying time on the white.
