Libyan Mirage F1

More Mirage F1 questions - the clear panel in the port intake. Is that always a spotlight, and what's it there for? :hmmm:

Sky police, Mike.

Identification purpose during an interception.

The F-1 was first and foremost an interceptor.

But references will still be needed, as I don't think the Libyans really bother about aircraft they might intercept.

And not so sure about this light present on an aircraft designed for ground work.

;)

ah, fame at last - nice to see one of my photo's making the forum! Pictures of SU22's, Mig23's, Mig25 etc all available on jetphotos too, and some that are not!

Sunny

Indeed, and thanks for sharing them. Where would we be if people didn't post their photos on the net? ^_^

I've started a WIP on this now here

Libya may change its markings soon so I wouldn't rush into marking it up just yet

at the airshow libyan government officials had a ceremony where they replaced the old libyan airforce markings with the new ones. only on one side though!
